Quiet House

The city lights were a blur. I rubbed my sleepy eyes, trying to adjust to the large flat screen TV's of men dressed in Hawaiian printed shirts, playing ucalalys  and singing "Welcome to Montana.". The overhead speaker warbled and cracked as we made our way to security. One last hug, wave, and smile faded as the seconds passed. As we headed back home, the clouds began to part, revealing such a faint hint of dawn above the mountains. A couple of stars sparkled in the early-morning sky.

Walking through the front door, the house was dark and quiet. It was almost too hard to believe 3 weeks of happiness and laughter and adventure had really taken place.
Moving my things back into my bedroom, I smiled, remembering the memories we made with our grandma.
We will always look back on this past month as one we had been waiting for years.

Although there was a lot of driving and sometimes little sleep in between, I think this was the best time we ever spent with our grandma. I loved every bit of it and wouldn't do it over again. I thank God for the time He gave us with her.
I'll be back with more photos from our vacation shortly! I'll try to fit everything in before school begins.
