Yes, that is a mini flat screen TV, AND our lawn table and umbrella. All I'm saying is that this family knows how to camp. Ha ha!
The lake at Emery Bay was perfect. I swam for hours! It was so refreshing after this abnormal heatwave; I am truly grateful the Lord has kept the forest fires away from our area.
Camping was luxurious and painful. When I say painful, I mean "painful sunburn." We got too much sun and cut the camping trip short a day or two, but we all had a great time.
I smelled like campfire smoke, my hair was thick from swimming in the lake, my sunburned back stung every which way I moved, I didn't get sick after two s'mores (which is a complete blessing), and laughed into my pillow as my family members snored long into the night. I'm not a huge fan of camping or eating roasted marshmallows late at night, but I can say I enjoyed myself immensely. So, Dad, you were right-- I am very glad I went camping.
