All Together



the wee bit of garden we were able plant amongst the rocks looked simply beautiful after the downpour. i love the colour of the dirt in these shots.

finally--RAIN! after this abnormal heat wave, the rain sounded so comforting as i drifted off to sleep last night. then i took a small hike into the bushes this morning and got soaked...the air was so crisp and fresh, despite a tinsie little bit of humidity that lingered.

there's just something about these photos that make me smile. the simple firewood stacked at the side of the house, an old chicken coop with yellow moss growing on it, the tall tamarack trees beyond the fence, my dog's "smile", and the silly-angry look of a hen. each photo describes the temporary place i call home.

The Weekend

The camp-out was, surprisingly, quite pleasant. I had pictured a major attack of mosquitoes, but, true story, our parents had a worse time with the mosquitoes INSIDE than we kids did OUTSIDE.
And our temp. got up to... 100?! Are you kidding me?? Yes, I was sweating like a pig and... well... not the happiest person to be around until it got down to 73--which didn't happen until 10 o'lock PM! haha
And then I wrote a bit, trying to stick to my novel and finish it. It's not fun having a big imagination like mine because I'm always thinking about ten other different novels to write.
So, our weather forecast tells us it's going to reach a high 93 today. I thought by moving away from Alabama, we'd escape the hot weather. How on EARTH did it follow us all the way up HERE? (haha) Have a great day!
